Our multi national client is currently looking for an experienced Vibration and Sound Specialist. This is a new role for a Vibration &amp; Sound Engineer, reporting to IPP EM Engineering Design Manager. Provide engineering investigation, analysis and solution delivery for both engineering design applications and customer support on vibration and sound related issues. Support new product designs and existing product application support for both generators and generating sets. Identify improvements through expert use of data collection and analysis techniques, software and equipment, providing vibration and sound consultancy service to all customers.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Provide vibration and sound consultancy to both internal and external customers. Make technical assessment of complex system design issues for vibration and sound, including new product introduction programs, current product application issues and where necessary, field failures, on company and related products and run problem solving with associated installations and control systems. Investigate, analyse, diagnose and make recommendations on technical solutions, supporting analysis lead design activity to ensure new and existing products provide whole life capability. Provide linkage to R &amp; D and daily order teams within the CGT IPP group Provide recommendations to Customer Support on warranty decisions and determine liability for warranty claims whilst representing the company and being aware of customer relations and company policies. Travel worldwide at short notice sometimes involving unsociable hours, which can involve working in hostile and difficult (hazardous) environments, making independent travel plans on route where necessary. Timely delivery of technical assessments and solution recommendations by use of technical report writing, response and analysis data using sound and vibration hardware and software systems to support FE modelling. Offer customer and user advice and technical information in trouble shooting and maintenance regarding vibration. Contact and liaise before, during and after the field service visit with the customer support contact responsible. Provide technical training for internal and external customers, supporting IPP test activity. Carry out all other tasks consistent with the nature and level of this position as directed by the IPP EM Engineering Design Manager or the IPP General Engineering Manager. &lt;br /&gt;
 Essential Skills: Mechanical Engineering degree Bachelors or HNC/HND with experience - essential. Masters Engineering Degree, highly desirable. &lt;br /&gt;
• Significant experience with generator sets and related equipment preferably in the design / applications environment.&lt;br /&gt;
• Vibration and sound data acquisition &amp; analysis trained.&lt;br /&gt;
• Knowledge of FE analysis • Ability to understand complex system and machine designs, engineering drawings and specifications.&lt;br /&gt;
• PC skills particularly MS Word, Excel &amp; PowerPoint&lt;br /&gt;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.&lt;br /&gt;
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and make decisions without immediate reference to manager. • Safety trained and awareness.&lt;br /&gt;
• Knowledge of a second language desirable (German/Romanian preferable)&lt;br /&gt;
