Autoscript has been awarded the contract to supply prompting services for the BBC�s new Farsi language news service which already launched in June 2008, and we are looking to recruit a full-time operator, initially on a 4 month contract.

You will be working as a dedicated autocue operator on the channel based in central London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an exciting television production environment.

You will be completely fluent in Farsi and English � both written and spoken � and must be a proficient touch-typist (testing in these areas will be part of the interview process). Complete fluency in Arabic as well as Farsi and English, will definitely be desirable.

Full training will be provided but you must have experience of working with Microsoft Windows programmes and be IT literate.

This is a demanding job in a pressurised environment which will thrive on and be able to function in, accepting that varied shift pattern are part of the job. You may be required to work above and beyond your normal hours at time of breaking news.

You will report directly to the Hire Manger at Autoscript, and as a customer facing representative of the company you will have to present yourself as smart, professional and approachable at all times.

You will be responsible for assessing companies from across several sectors according to a range of social, governance and environment criteria. You will have a broad knowledge of issues relating to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and must be able to efficiently communicate and summarise complex material both verbally and in writing. You will need to be accurate and efficient, and be familiar with the use of databases, spreadsheets and word processing packages. You will be able to analyse and manipulate data in bulk using Access, Excel or equivalent and to define new queries and lookups. You will have a good level of numeracy and be a fast learner.

Language Connect is a young and innovative London-based translation services company providing multi-lingual solutions in all languages.

We are looking for skilled linguists with a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills and excellent organisational/multi-tasking abilities to develop project management responsibilities.

Successful candidates will be (near)native English speakers + any with at least 2 years� experience in translation from at least one foreign language (more than one additional language is advantageous). Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is essential. Specialist knowledge and experience in translating legal and financial documents in particular is advantageous.
