Main purpose of job
Working closely with company engineering staff to ensure correct fitting of engines to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) product.
Provide technical service support in the broadest sense to engine & power products distributors and OEM�s. Coordinating technical issues in after-sales support.

Tasks and responsibilities
Main Tasks:
Working closely with OEM R&D engineers to ensure the correct fitment of their engines to their product & final matching check approval.
Co-ordinates effective follow-up of all delays in service back-up � including USA spec/supplied engines.
Technical support to P-P distributor and OEMs & visiting as needed.
Assists the circulation of Service Information, Manuals, etc to Distributors and OEMs.
Distributor and OEM training � in support of Aftersales Specialist.
Sales and marketing support activities where requested.
Co-ordinate & liaise with counterparts on technical issues.
To support, advise and assist other technical staff on all related matters.
Sub Tasks:
Upon request by company, investigate and report on urgent matters.
Maintain Content Managing System for Manuals and maintenance in support of Technical Information Service.
Advising and assisting on the maintenance of technical segment of website.

Accountability
The Applications Engineer reports directly to the Deputy Senior Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day activities surrounding the (technical) support of the GPE technical activities.
Within the daily operation the Applications Engineer has the freedom to plan and organise the activities as seen fit to perform the duties involved in the job. Keeping Deputy Senior Manager informed of any significant developments.
Sales support activities will involve assisting with exhibition build and breakdown and stand manning

Training /experience
Technical college (MTS) or Advanced Technical College (HTS) or equivalent with a number of years experience or trained mechanic with a number of year�s experience and office affection.
Experience in small engine Industry.
Knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engine technology.
Knowledge of petrol engine market.
Fluent in English, plus fluent in one other EU language preferably German other language an advantage.
MS Office experience and/or comparable.
Experienced in Word & Excel

Specifics
Although an office job, the job will include frequent travel to OEM�s and/or distributors for the Sales Support activities or problem analyses. The Sales Support will require extended out off office activities for exhibitions and/or test days.

Salary is dependant upon experience, paid monthly in arrears by BACS, ranging from �27 to �40,000.
