KEY OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The holder of this position will work closely with the languages and linguistics and product development teams playing a critical role in developing the next generation language capabilities required for our Adaptxt software. The language support team will also be required to assist in product demonstrations of Adaptxt software in their native languages.

GENERAL TASKS & DUTIES

� To assist in the development of next generation KPT UI products incorporating international languages, focusing on Catalan or Swedish
� To ensure KPT is at the forefront of the technology market in international integration of text input systems
� To undertake research and provide recommendations for language dictionaries
� To install appropriate dictionaries
� To test authenticity, validity and accuracy of all language installations or downloads
� To understand grammar, language construction and nuances of your native language and apply these to the Adaptxt software
� To convert / translate user manuals / documents
� To convert presentation and B2B documents into relevant language domains
� To proof and endorse all current and future language translations
� To articulate and demonstrate the capabilities of KPT�s software to potential and existing clients, at trade shows and international software events
� To facilitate internationalisation of the website in liaison with the marketing team
� To assist in the production of language-specific marketing collateral
� To identify important cultural differences via research / experience

REQUIRED BACKGROUND

� Degree in linguistics or translation
� Multilingual capabilities in international languages, primarily Catalan or Swedish
� Excellent grammatical skills
� Solid understanding of natural language traits and properties
� Proactive, self-starter, ability to work on own initiative and in team environment
� Proven ability to work closely with a busy team and manage multiple priorities

Job Role

You will be working alongside other staff translators in your working language. Duties include translation and proof-reading of predominantly technical, commercial and IT texts, automotive and medical work as well as software localisation.

The Candidate:

� A degree or postgraduate degree in Languages or Translation Studies is required.
� All levels of experience will be considered.
� Your most fluent language must be English.
� English speaking translators working from one or more of the Nordic languages are also sought. Fluency in English is essential for Nordic nationals.

Our client, a major leader in its field of expertise is currently recruiting a Translation Project Co-ordinator to join their busy team. The position serves as contact person with multilingual vendors and clients (internal and external) for non-complex projects. The role involves communicating specific detailed instructions to foreign speaking vendors, and managing workflows and processes as instructed by senior staff members. You will also be responsible for the final quality assurance of translation and real-time, accurate recording of activities.

Responsibilities

Working closely with senior team member to identify any aspect of the project where assistance might be requested, such as glossary creation and translation memories and
complete administrative tasks in a timely manner.
Perform Quality assurance checks on translated documents
Compile and update glossaries, previously translated similar documents, list of acronyms, technical terminology, and translation memories.

With the assistance of senior Project Consultants, select and assign translation teams, negotiate deadlines and coordinate production with translators, proofreaders, and Customer Service Reps.

Qualifications

First degree or equivalent in Translation and/or interpretation or equivalent experience
Fluent in English plus one of the Scandinavian languages to mother tongue standard
