Language Connect is a fast-growing and innovative London-based translation services company providing multi-lingual solutions in all languages.

We are currently looking for resourceful and pro-active individuals with experience of project management within the translation industry. A successful candidate will be a skilled linguist with a keen eye for detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and outstanding organisational/multi-tasking abilities. A management opportunity is available for candidates with previous experience of managing a team of at least 5 people.

All applicants will be near native English speakers with experience in the translation services industry. They will have experience as a translator from at least one foreign language (more than one additional language is advantageous). Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is essential. Specialist knowledge and experience in translating legal and financial documents in particular is advantageous.

We currently have vacancies for Project Managers and a Team Manager. All successful candidates would commence in the role of Project Manager. Once competent in this role there is an opportunity to be considered for the position of Team Manager. This would involve supervising a team of at least 5 other Project Managers. The Company

Our client a large blue chip company is currently seeking to recruit a Bilingual Localisation Project Manager for their offices in Hertfordshire

The Job Role

To manage and deliver complex localisation projects to meet global product launch schedules. Achieve business results while consistently meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction targets.

Main Accountabilities:

- Deliver complex localisation projects to meet global product launch/Service Level Agreement targets (quality, cost, delivery) in order to retain and delight customers
- Develop and maintain quotations, statements of work and project schedules based on project requirements
- Lead and coach project team [of up to 20 personnel] with varying skills and knowledge
- Manage the project team's delivery process from order to delivery
- Motivate the project team to deliver project objectives and optimum business results and to maintain a customer first attitude
- Analyse and report monthly on project performance (work-in-progress, delivery performance, schedule tracking and project profitability) using problem-solving skills to address below-target results, particularly in the area of account profitability
- Identify and resolve all project issues in a timely manner and highlight any opportunities or risks as appropriate. Perform and document risk assessment and root cause analysis.
- Input to project management processes and metrics for repeatable high performance in order to achieve business results
- Work effectively with the Customer Services Group and with other Language Services groups to ensure best practices are shared and a �Customer First� attitude is prevalent across project teams

The Candidate:

- Relevant project management experience in the translation/localisation industry (particularly complex projects of up to 6 months duration)
- Experience of managing a project team of >5 staff
- Experience of measuring and reporting on project performance
- Experience of working at a cross-functional level (e.g. mapping/creating new work processes)
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a project team
- Proven ability to develop, monitor and maintain complex project schedules and budgets
- Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis and suggest recommendations in order to deliver results
- Track record of delivering results within a fast-moving production environment
- Proven customer management & relationship-building experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of localisation production processes, including translation tools & technology
- Demonstrable knowledge of Software Localization processes
- Familiarity with global product launches
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) plus fluent in another European language
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Knowledge of MS Project and Excel
- Able to work under pressure and remain flexible and adaptable
- Degree or equivalent preferred;
- Able to work in a multicultural environment and across time zones
- Positive attitude, drive & enthusiasm

Additional Info:

Salary: �14 p/h

You will be working for a global translation compan based on a client's site in Basingstoke, Hampshire. This is initially a 6 month contract which in all liklihood will be extended. You will be managing large and complex customer account, planning, organising, scheduling and monitoring and controlling all aspects of the production process in addition to budget and tracking costs, resolving problems and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will be working with 4 project managers and 4 localisation managers. To do this you will have to have at least 2 years project management experience ideally within a translation environment, excellent communication skills, be highly organised and able to adapt to changing senarios and multitask. You will need to have a positive approach and be solution oriented and ideally have knowledge of a European language
