Sandberg Translation Partners Limited (STP) is preparing to move to a larger office in the Southampton area, probably in the early autumn of 2008. We are therefore looking to extend our team of staff translators and will have vacant positions for up to two full-time translators in each of our five working languages (Danish, English, Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish). We will be looking to fill these positions from late summer and through the autumn of 2008.

A degree or postgraduate degree in Languages or Translation Studies is required. All levels of experience will be considered. Applicants must be native speakers of the language they translate into. Native English translators working from one or more of the Nordic languages are sought. Fluency in English is essential for Nordic nationals. A high level of IT skills and knowledge of CAT tools, particularly Trados, is an advantage.

Duties include translation and proof-reading of predominantly technical, commercial and IT texts, but we are also keen to hear from established specialist translators in the fields of automotive and medical work as well as software localisation. Translators with experience of project management from another translation company who would be interested in a dual translator/project manager role at STP are also very welcome

� Carry out maintenance work on the translation memories to reduce ambiguity and increase translation efficiency.
� Undertake quality audits and provide reports for internal and external use (ITQS / TQA)
� Support Translation Resourcing Analysts in identification/provision of reference materials to ensure consistency across translations performed by different translators
� Participate in cross-functional project teams to represent the views and concerns of the translation team and ensure processes are designed to be efficient & effective.

Candidate Requirements
� Experience of translation production tools & processes
� Experience of supplier management with a track record of negotiation and cost management / reporting
� Experience of translating documents within the automotive, engineering environment would be advantageous but experience in other areas will also be considered
� Experience in project planning with knowledge of Trados, Multiterm and other technical production processes

Our client requires a dynamic sales professional with strong commercial experience.
