Our client is a medium-sized translation and localisation company with offices in several European locations. They are experiencing rapid growth and are currently looking for a Project Manager, with experience in managing primarily technical and marketing/advertising translation projects, to work from their office based in Milton Keynes.
Due to the high volume of translations, you will be required to coordinate all translators from the company's centralised platform SDL-TeamWorks. The Project Manager will directly interface with the company's clients as well as outside resources in DTP and engineering.
The key responsibilities will be to:
• Manage full-cycle translation projects
• Assign the right team members (translators, proofreaders, DTP specialists) for each specific project
• Negotiate rates with freelance translators
• Perform quality control
• Assist consolidated and new customers to ensure they receive the best service
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Business, Engineering, Linguistics or Computer Science
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in managing translation/localisation projects
• Required language: English, a second language (German, Italian, French) will be appreciated
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
• Proactive person who takes initiatives in managing projects and improving processes
• Experience with CAT tools, SDL TRADOS certification will be appreciated
• Advanced level of PC literacy, including MS Office
• Experience in managing in house resources and external vendors
• Knowledge of Project Management methodologies
• Exceptional communication abilities and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
