Our client, a US owned multinational manufacturing organisation and global market leader in its field, is looking to expand it's Finance team based at the European headquarters on the outskirts of Glasgow. This is a newly created role for a Senior Accounting Specialist, working within a highly energetic and strategic environment, to focus on financial management and reporting activities across international territories, specifically Benelux territories – The Netherlands, Belgium & Luxembourg.
In addition to fluency in English, candidates will ideally be fluent in Dutch or Flemish.
The successful candidate will ideally be a qualified Accountant with financial accounting/ reporting background gained in a similar role within an international organisation/ shared service centre environment spanning international territories. Candidates will ideally have experience gained across Benelux territories.
The successful candidate will play a key role in month end, half year and year end reporting activities spanning international locations.
You will be tasked with forging strong relationships across the business. You will also play a key role in a range of on going business projects focusing on continuous improvement initiatives across business areas.
Candidates will ideally have an in depth knowledge of IFRS, UK/US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley.
Your remit will be highly varied and will include -
* Monthly, quarterly, half yearly/yearly management and Group reporting information reporting to strict UK and US deadlines.
* Remit covers ensuring compliance to both local and US GAAP requirements.
* VAT and Intrastat reporting activities.
* Review & analysis of statutory financial statements for all business units across multiple locations.
* Preparation of monthly variances and analysis between actual results to budget & full year forecasts.
* Budgeting & forecasting for local and international management teams.
* Monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly reviews for management teams.
* Performs monthly internal and external financial reporting in accordance with prescribed reporting procedures.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record within a similar environment and naturally be at ease working across international territories. First class interpersonal, communication and analytical skills are essential together with strong IT skills.
