As a specialist localisation company, our client translates and adapts software products and documentation for companies around the world. Their client list includes both established global players and smaller, newer companies on the brink of breaking into world markets. An opportunity has now arisen for a Technical Author / Writer to join their team.
This role would suit an experienced Technical Author with exceptional French or German writing skills and a track record within the audio/video industry.
As a Technical Author / Writer you will work as a team producing translations for the video and audio industry. Your role will involve assisting translators to understand technical concepts, and editing translations to suit the company’s clients’ requirements. You will also create client and product-specific glossaries and style guides, and liaise with client contacts in various countries to discuss their specific needs.
To be considered for this position, you must:
- be proficient in writing French or German to a professional level
- have experience as a Technical Writer, Technical Editor, Technical Author or similar
- have a background in the audio and video industries, such as film production, broadcasting, TV etc
- have an excellent command of English
Additionally, as a Technical Author / Writer you’ll need the ability to explain and describe technical concepts in a concise way, and write/edit materials for marketing purposes and presentations.
