CREDIT CONTROL
Supervisor: CREDIT DIRECTOR – INTL OUTDOOR COALITION
GENERAL SUMMARY
To assess and control the level of credit risk and to ensure that all customer accounts are accurately and promptly maintained, ensuring that efficient release of orders to maximise sales whilst having regard to the Company credit policy.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Daily focused control of designated credit team, including the setting of targets and the motivation and training of staff.
2. Obtain timely relevant customer and financial data to establish criteria for reviewing and setting new and existing customer credit limits to £30k, by the Assistant Credit Manager up to £150k and Credit Director International Outdoor Coalition above £150k.
3. Setting up of new customer database within JBA, including the migration of acquisition databases.
4. Day to day contact with all relevant outdoor coalition divisions to resolve customer queries/issues.
5. Maintain and monitor relevant team performance in line with credit objectives.
6. Maintaining accounts receivable balances for accounts within his/her specific remit within terms and within credit limits and provide assistance and support to Credit Control Assistants through timely cash collection, including processing of documentary letters of credit. Ensuring issue of reminder letters to coincide with agreed customer settlement terms.
7. Maintaining up to date files by customer regarding actions taken to recover outstanding debts, resolution of queries for review by relevant Assistant Credit Manager and Credit Director International Outdoor Coalition.

8. To ensure correct allocation of cash, invoices, credit notes and journals to maintain a reconciled accounts receivable.
9. Provide monthly data regarding accounts receivable condition for review by Assistant Credit Manager and report to Credit Director International Outdoor Coalition.
10. Provide day to day credit support to relevant Outdoor sales divisions within set credit policy, to assist good communications and service excellence to customers.
11. Proactively review all pre-book/seasonal orders, organising and leading relevant Sales and Customer Service meetings to agree and secure mutually acceptable actions.
12. Prepare documentation for trade debt litigation, in conjunction with Assistant Credit Manager, and oversee subsequent Controller communication with solicitors to maintain up to date legal actions and files.
13. Authorisation of write-offs up to £500 and ensure that journal records are correct and up to date for review by Assistant Credit Manager and monthly sign off by Credit Director International Outdoor Coalition.
14. Attend and participate at review meetings with Credit Director International Outdoor Coalition and relevant Assistant Credit Manager, Outdoor Coalition Management and Account Co-ordinators.
15. To assist in the appraisals of staff within the designated credit team.
16. Any other duties as assigned to the Job Holder within the Job Holder's capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: To Degree Level or equivalent
• Experience: Ideally 5 Years Credit Control Experience in an FMCG Company
• Leadership: Prior Supervisory experience desirable
• Language skills: Fluent Spoken & Written English + one other European Language minimum
