we are recruiting for a Product Development Manager to work for a fast growing telecommunications company.
General Purpose
The company is an ITSP and will be providing a full range of Internet, Hosted and Telecommunications services into the SME market place. The role of the Product Development Manager is to provide to the business a number of new products. Working with other members of the team i.e. the MD, Commercial Director, Sales Director, IT and Networks Manager and Customer Operations Manager this role requires strong communication and project management skills.
The product manager will be responsible for bringing to market a number of new Business to Business products within the company including:
VoIP Telephony, Hosted IPPBX (Platform based) , Hosted Solutions including Microsoft Exchange, SaaS, Internet Access dedicated and via ADSL Broadband, Network Services including ADSL2Plus, Ethernet and MPLS networks, Carrier Pre-Select and Wholesales Line Rental, Next Generation Network Services including non-geographic numbers, Co-Location and hosted servers, shared servers.
Each product launch should have completed product descriptions for both Sales and Technical staff. Operations order flows, Installation processes, fault management flows, Pricing and Marketing Material. The role involves a lot of interaction with external marketing agencies, and the companies Commercial Director.
The role requires a hard working individual, who is a self starter capable of looking for the answer to problems and then able to create from a number of wholesale products

Salary £30,000 - 35,000 per annum
20 days annual leave
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop the suit of products.
- Develop all sales and technical material related to new products
- Develop with Operations, all install, ongoing maintenance and fault procedures.
- Be available to assist sales in customer meetings
- Communicate verbally with customer base on an as needed basis
- Prepare management reports
- Play and active role within the management team
- Deliver products into the company on time
Education and Experience:
- Internet, Broadband and Ethernet
- Good understanding of the underlying technologies of :
- Routers, Firewalls and IPVPN IP ,VoIP, SIP, IP PBX and Phone Setup and configuration
- Experience of Hosted Application services such as Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft Server and Co Location configuration using appropriate Web based management tools.
- Previous Product Management / Development expeience
- Previous Experience in an ISP or Telecoms provider.

Person Spec
It is likely the candidate will be mature, Already a supervisor or manager or project manager in an ISP, ITSP or Telecoms company.
It is vital they have excellent understanding of Network IP configurations (WAN, LAN, Ethernet), VoIP technologies, Router and Firewall technologies. IP access (broadband configuration)
Real benefit if they have ITSP hosted IPPBX experience.
Will be looking for next career move and will like fast moving environments. Happy to work with Start up company mentality as in ALL HANDS to the pump. Good communications skills essential.
Needs to live within ½ hour of the Solihull /Shirley area. May initially for first 1 month also work from Castle Donington office, therefore must have full driving licence.
They will be based in Shirley / Solihull area once we get an office which we are working on now.
May be or were employed within the telecoms reseller market (B2B) or within an ISP.
Important they are a B2B person and not residential / consumer background.
