JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary of Primary Role:

This role is responsible for identifying, satisfying and commercialising business opportunities for ISI’s Emerging Markets Information Service (EMIS) product line in the country or countries shown above. Apart from a comprehensive understanding of user workflow and content/functionality needs within the target markets, you will also have, or will develop, a full understanding of competitive offerings in those market spaces, while serving as the primary reference point for all aspects of the EMIS product line within your country or countries of responsibility.

You will target revenue opportunities by identifying the product requirements in terms of content, functionality, capability and enhancements necessary to capture that revenue. Your will be directly responsible for acquiring the required content while will work with EMIS Product Development team in the implementation of functionality and capability enhancements.

You will ensure sales and support staff receive the necessary product knowledge and materials to enable them to perform their roles and achieve the sales targets required to meet your EMIS revenue objectives. Your role may also require development and implementation of product training and rollout strategies, with appropriate marketing and collateral support.

In delivering high-level pre and post sales expertise, you will need to have intimate knowledge of the functionality, content and other aspects of all the EMIS products, as well as excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, in order to establish and maintain a positive and productive “trusted advisor” dialog with internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities:

-Develop and document a product specification -and a content acquisition strategy in particular- and business strategy for EMIS which is consistent with ISI goals and meets defined revenue targets. This entails determining the requirements necessary to meet and exceed ISI and customer expectations in terms of margin, price, quality, capability and competitor positioning for the EMIS product line. This determination will be derived through coordination with central ISI group, research of internal and external customers, the analysis of current and historical trends and a detailed understanding of competitor positioning.

-Identify key content sets that are required for EMIS products in each of the countries or markets it serves, considering the countries classification by categories. This includes content created internally or provided by a third party. Proactively monitor, review and document these needs on an on-going basis. Together with the appropriate ISI content groups or team members, develop business models to profitably acquire this content for the product.

-Maintain current relations with data providers and assure contract terms are observed during the contractual term.

-Supervise payments to data providers and assure they receive on time the usage reports on a monthly/quarterly basis

-Accountable for maintaining profitable content into the service by assuring the ratio between costs paid with the data and attributed revenues below 30% in each of the countries covered

-Prepare ROI document in cases of new content exceeding a certain amount, as per Content Acquisition Guideline, document and support the proposed acquisition by showing whether the investment will prove to be profitable or not

-Manage the approved budget for content acquisitions (mainly applicable for Category A countries) in order to meet clients requirements of content gaps by content types

-Quarterly review of publications usage for identifying low usage content or highly priced content and replace where needed

-Create any new publication/ new data provider under internal web tools, assure proper categorisation settings for the new content, liaise with Content Editors for future maintenance of the content

-Proper understanding of internal taxonomy

-Identify key functionality required for EMIS products in each of the countries or markets it serves. Proactively monitor, review and document these needs and present it to the product development team.

-Establish and maintain regular, consistent and direct customer contact sufficient to ensure an intimate knowledge of user workflow, needs, trends and perceptions and sufficient to meet needs specified by ISI management

-Serve as the primary, local, EMIS “single point of contact” in what content refers for ISI team members located outside your country or countries shown above.

-Serve as primary, local EMIS product contact for ISI clients, sales and support organisations. This will include positioning the EMIS products from a value proposition perspective and working with marketing and sales to ensure the correct message is created and delivered to the appropriate audience. It will also involve making sure the appropriate training courses and materials are created and delivered to the sales and support organisations that allow them to maintain a level of product, market and competitor expertise sufficient to meet EMIS revenue, cancellation and margin targets.

-Perform product demonstrations, as necessary, at trade shows, industry events and client/prospect visits.

-Work with the commercial and marketing teams to ensure the systematic collection, documentation and analysis of customer and prospect feedback and, where appropriate, ensure that this feedback is reflected in future product releases.

-Stay abreast of market conditions/trends and provide sales and marketing teams with information on competitor activities and new technologies.

-Communicate EMIS product strategy, positioning, plans, enhancements, timelines and rollout information to local ISI teams on a timely, consistent and regular basis

-Gather competitive intelligence, both internally and through external channels, package the information in an actionable context for the local sales or support teams, and facilitate the distribution of the information in order to enhance business development efforts.
