Language Connect is a dynamic, technology-oriented language services agency headquartered in London’s fashionable Bermondsey Street area. An exciting new opportunity has developed to join our dynamic, young translation team as a Project Manager. We're looking for ambitious candidates with exceptional language skills, strong attention to detail and excellent people skills.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the production of language services for a number of allocated clients in accordance with our ISO-accredited quality management system.
Minimum requirements for the position:
1. Exceptional language skills to degree level in at least one European language other than English (German preferred).
2. Level 1 SDL Trados training for Project Managers or equivalent (at least 50 hours' experience with Trados 2009 is essential) and/or over 20 hours’ experience with CAT tools.
3. At least 1 year of experience in the translation and localization industry within a project management/co-ordination role.
4. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as ability to deliver to tight deadlines.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Sound understanding of the correct use of English grammar and punctuation. (English speakers)
6. A logical thinker with a high level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new software programs quickly.
7. Typing/word-processing speed and accuracy equivalent to at least 40 words a minute.
All applicants will have experience as a translator from at least one foreign language (more than one additional language is advantageous). Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and experience with CAT tools is essential. Specialist IT knowledge, PRINCE2 and/or experience in verbatim coding are all advantageous.
