Job Title: Horse Racing Trader - South & Latin American Markets
Overall Purpose of Job:
Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Paddy Power is leading Irish PLC with turnover of more than €4.6 million and over 3,300 employees worldwide. Horseracing is Paddy Power’s most traditional product and continues to generate by far our highest turnover. An opportunity currently exists for a Horse Racing Trader ideally fluent in Spanish to join our existing team. Reporting to the Head of Racing you will use your extensive knowledge of Horse Racing to compile a wide range of Horse Racing Markets and be a key member of the Trading Team on these products. It’s the task of the Horse Racing Trader to manage these markets for the Latin & South America region. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to enter the exciting world of Horseracing trading.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all of our Horseracing markets are made live in a timely fashion
• Once these markets are live you must continually monitor them and respond to new information
• Compilation of our Horseracing product for South & Latin American markets.
• Liaise with the Screens production managers to ensure that the best product mix is offered to our retail customers
• Continually look to develop new markets to improve our product offering
• Wherever possible, price any ad hoc requests that we receive from our customers or the media
Skills & Experience:
• Proven passion and interest in both horse racing and betting
• Strong numerical ability
• Fluent in Spanish (Intermediate a minimum)
• Knowledge of Latin & South American Horse Racing a distinct advantage.
• Good Interpersonal skills
• Highly self motivated
• Ability to work in a team
• Flexible attitude towards working hours
• Ability to “think on feet” and react promptly in response to changing situations
• Excellent organisational & prioritisation skills
