Randstad Business Support is currently recruiting for an challenging role within a Sales office environment, although it is stressed that this is NOT a sales position and is looking for someone ideally from a Project Management Environment. The prime objective is to grow business within the Sales Team, by developing relationships with customers, preparing quotations following guidelines and procedures, maintaining margin expectations and negotiate in order to secure new business primarily on non-standard catalogue parts.
Role Responsibilites:
* To communicate primarily via the phone but also via e mail, letter, fax and other means. The prime objective is to build relationships that enable the individual to exchange information, to prepare quotations and to negotiate in order to secure business for the company, within company guidelines.
* This role requires the individual to make informed and responsible decisions relating to the business.
* To provide cover in absence of colleagues.
* To evaluate a customers requirement to determine growth opportunities in conjunction with team colleagues.
* To prepare quotations in line with company margins through negotiations with supplier and customer.
* To maintain and up-date business development and quotations databases, ensuring all quotes are followed up to completion.
* Work within a team to ensure all targets are achieved and contribute to overall company sales targets.
* Identify potential new common product for inclusion in general catalogue.
* Be prepared to visit customers / suppliers when required.
* To ensure adequate telephone cover is provided during times as requested by Commercial Manager / Commercial Executive or pre-agreed designated times.
* To communicate with the Commercial Manager, Sales Manager, External Sales and other colleagues within the department to ensure an exchange of information between all parties to maximize the exploitation of every sales opportunity.
* To use a mixture of competitor information and liaison with Technical and Purchasing departments in order to secure new sources of product supply.
* To deal with customer complaints in a professional and helpful manner at all times, to see the complaint through to completion.
* To process sales paperwork and general administration as required.
* To participate in area meetings and suggest improvements where possible with a view to hitting sales targets.
* To adhere to company procedures and company handbook.
* To continue to update the competitor / cross reference register.
* Be fully acquainted with the Group's Quality Manuals and Procedures and carry out all operations in accordance with them.
* Represent the company at exhibitions as required.
Person Specifications:
* Engineering qualification would be an advantage
* Team Player who is used to working with people of all levels
* Project Management Experience
* Self motivated and dynamic
* Experience within a Sales support function
* Excellent Excel skills
