Our client a leader in the Events industry is currently seeking an IT Support Technician to join their Leicestershire based offices on an 8 Months fixed term contract.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide support to the IT department in the delivery of IT related projects.
Manage small scale IT related projects.
Administration of bespoke ERP solution (SmartG8), including creation and maintenance of user accounts and access privileges, providing ad hoc reports and responding to requests from Managers. To take ownership of these requests to aid development of the system.
To develop and deliver IT training in conjunction with the Training Department.
including but not limited to SmartG8 and Microsoft Office Training.
Administration of the phone system including to be first point of contact for any issues and to provide training on correct usage.
To monitor and support usage of staff portal and company website.
To complete and monitor the company asset register of hardware.
Develop IT systems, software and hardware in line with the company's business plan.
Any other duties commensurate with the role.
KEY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Hands-on experience working in a Microsoft environment including Active Directory, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Server 2003/2008.
Microsoft office experience from installation to support with a deep knowledge of Excel.
Experience of website content management.
Desktop and laptop builds using imaging technology.
Experience of anti-virus solutions (preferably Trend).
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, cabling systems and networking.
Experience and confidence implementing and supporting mobile device solutions, preferably Blackberry.
Experience of supporting remote, mobile workers.
