A part-time European Scientific Administrator (flexible 20 hours per week) is urgently sought for a varied role in the Human Medicines Development and Evaluation Unit of a European organisation. The role primarily consists of handling the Safety and Efficacy part related to pre-and post-authorisation activities of centralised applications/marketing authorisations according to agreed standards.

Principal duties for the Scientific Administrator will include:
* Providing scientific and regulatory support for projects involving internal committees and groups of experts.
* Co-ordinating activities essential to the establishment of objective scientific opinions, assessments reports and their formal approval
* Processing centralised applications and preparing them for committee review
* Processing requests for information

Essential requirements for the Part Time Scientific Administrator role:
* University science degree (health/life/medical or pharmaceutical)
* Bilingual/multilingual - a good command of English and a thorough knowledge of another official language of the European Union (see below)
* Solid administrative skills including MS Office (particularly Word and Excel)
* SAP useful
* Solid experience in the scientific sector - ideally pharmaceutical or medical regulatory affairs
* Must be willing to work part-time (20 hours per week) and available to begin work from March 2012

Candidates for this scientific administrator role should be nationals of an EU member state

The working languages required are: German, Dutch, Portuguese, French, Italian, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, Greek, Maltese, Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Spanish, Czech, Slovenian, Slovakian, Polish, Hungarian, Liechtenstein and Iceland. Romanian or Bulgarian nationals must have the required work permit status for the UK
