We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Mandarin speaking individual to join our Product Editorial Team as a Product Sub Editor. The main purpose of this role is to help ensure all products on NET-A-PORTER Group websites are translated in an accurate and reliable manner, in clear and concise Mandarin, whilst preserving the house style. This role will require you to work very closely with our translations provider to ensure consistency and quality are maintained.

Responsibilities

•Partner with our outsourced translations service; working closely with their linguists to bed-in the house styles, maintaining quality and service level
•Responsible for subbing all product page copy; checking accuracy of copy against images as well as grammar and spelling. Ensuring all copy is clear and concise
•Responsible and accountable for ensuring all copy is translated and subbed to weekly deadlines
•Ensuring that all editorial content across product pages reflects the aims, values, house style and tone of each site
•Check accuracy of upload by checking all click-through functionality, size and fit tabs and dropdowns on the product page
•Responsible for creating and maintaining house style document
•Work with the other Studio Production Team Managers to ensure the process runs smoothly
•Manage a small team of Mandarin speaking Sub Editors
•Proactively develop team and individual performance. Carry out annual performance appraisals and identify development needs

Essential Skills & Requirements

•You will need to be able to write and speak both Mandarin and English fluently.
•People management experience to oversee and develop other Sub Editors.
•Proven experience of internet/interactive sub editing within retail
•Sound knowledge of men’s and women's luxury fashion, seasonal trends, designers and brands as well as strong commercial awareness
•Significant proven experience in managing and leading a team of in-house writers in a fast turnaround, high quality environment
•The ability to meet tight deadlines and experience in motivating others to achieve within the require timeframe
•Confidence to liaise with a variety of departments
•Excellent command of the English language
•Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
•Experience working in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment with competing deadlines and priorities
•Ability to think clearly and calmly when faced with issues or problems
•Logical approach to purchase information
•Willingness to go the extra mile
•Self-motivated, takes initiative
•A proven ability to work quickly and efficiently with accuracy and attention to detail
•Time management skills, excellent time keeping and ability to meet deadlines
•Excellent organizational skills
