Flammability Engineer
Based in Kilkeel, County Down

In this exciting opportunity you will have responsible for all technical areas of flammability which relate to design, manufacture and testing of all composite components.
Key Responsibilities:-
* Qualification and implementation of new materials for use in composite materials which advance the state of the art in relation to flammability performance.
* Develop the current understanding of flammability certification, documentation and requirements and through liaison with the Certification team assist in the development of flammability test plans.
* Work alongside the Composite Engineers to ensure the design and manufacture of new products meet and exceed all required flammability regulations.
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Composite Design Team and other multi-disciplinary teams across the facility in all flammability related material matters.
* Maintaining and updating materials registers and specs.
* Contributing to culture of continuous improvement within the unit.
Essential Criteria:-
* 3rd level qualification in Materials, Chemistry, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or related.

* Excellent communication skills
* Team working
Desirable Criteria:-
* One years relevant working experience in the areas of composites, chemistry, materials or engineering.
* One years project management experience from initial research to implementation.
* One years relevant experience of composite materials, manufacturing techniques, testing standards and data analysis.
* One years experience of certification in an aerospace environment.
