Our client, a multinational organisation based in Cambridge is recruiting an Accounts Payable Team Leader with French or Italian or Spanish or German for their busy finance team.

Responsibilities

The AP Team Leader will be in charge of a group of three to four AP Assistants and responsible for the following functions:
• control and quality of AP processing;
• analysis of AP metrics for the Team; identification and resolution of process issues with internal business partners such as Purchasing, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and external vendors
• training of AP staff;
• carrying out payment runs
• communication with vendors
• The Team Leader will be expected to contribute to standardization and optimization of AP processes and generally the serve as a business partner for the AP function.

Main duties:

In conjunction with the APAR Manager identify and recruit appropriate employees as vacancies arise.

Ensure new starters attend all induction courses

Organise regular meetings, both at a team level and one-to-one with individuals in the team.

Put objectives in place for all staff members appropriate to their role and ambitions.

Hold regular performance reviews to ensure staff members are performing to a satisfactory level and review performance in the light of objectives set for staff members.

Ensure that controls are in place, and all staff trained, such that transactions are carried out to an acceptable standard of quality.

Identify possible process improvements and identify optimal allocation of processing resource.

Reduce invoice processing error rates and improve collection of vendor cash discounts.

Ensure that appropriately authorised invoices are paid on a regular basis according to payment terms.


Requirements

Applicants should have experienced of leading an AP team within a large organisation and be fluent in French or Spanish or Italian or German
SAP experience would be an advantage
