Due to the rapid expansion of the Translation Division, we are now looking for an experienced Translation Project Manager for a busy and varied portfolio of translation and interpreting clients.
Responsibilities include:
Managing workflows and processes of translation projects from inception to completion following defined rules and procedures.
Sourcing suitable translators.
Helping with all aspects of office and project administration.
Planning, scheduling, monitoring and supporting the progress of multiple projects, including selecting and assigning translation teams, negotiating deadlines and coordinating production with translators and proofreaders ensuring the smooth operation of day to day business.
Direct client contact and account management, sales duties
Use of TRADOS, Terminology Management, including terminology extraction, terminology translation and definition creation, and pre-translation.
To regularly compile and update glossaries, extract terminology from previously translated documents and maintain translation memories.
Priority to ensure project information is correctly maintained, keeping the translator and project database up to date, recording jobs as they are received from our customers, processed and returned, maintaining live management status and data. This includes keeping invoices up to date.
Reporting to the General Manager of the Translation Division.
Skills:
Proven track record of previous experience in the translation industry with experience of project management.
Must have English to Mother tongue standard. Fluency in other European languages, especially German or French would be an advantage.
Client facing experience (client meetings will be necessary) with excellent and friendly communication and presentation skills including good telephone manner.
Educated to degree level. If degree is not in translation must have similar qualifications.
High level of IT literacy including TRADOS, translation memory and terminology tools.
Ability to prioritise whilst handling multiple projects simultaneously in a sometimes hectic, time sensitive environment.
Ability to follow strict Quality Assurance procedures.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Reliability and conscientious approach to work.
