The London based Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping for our European operations (UK, Germany, France and Spain), in particular:

•Sales ledger / credit control
•Purchase ledger (payments & allocation)
•Reconciliation of control accounts (months ends), including prepayments and accruals
•Reconciling credit card and expenses
•Bank reconciliations
•VAT returns, payroll control
•Support the Financial Controller during quarter-end, year-end and audit periods

Candidate profile

•The ideal candidate will be at least AAT qualified, and have solid general accounting experience and be familiar with the operational side of a finance office within a media or similar fast paced work environment
•Good IT knowledge with Excel skills essential, knowledge of SAGE software desirable
•Attention to detail, ability to work to strict deadlines is essential
•Open communicator with a hands-on approach, responsible, proactive and accurate
•Fluency in English as well as advanced knowledge of German required, familiarity with other languages (Spanish or French) would be a plus
