Job Description
As a leading provider of multilingual communication services, CLS Communication has grown steadily since its establishment in 1997. We are now the 11th largest language services group in the world, employing 357 staff worldwide in locations in Europe, North America and the Far East. In the UK, we are also one of the leading providers and we employ 37 people and have enjoyed a period of strong growth and success. To continue this expansion we are now looking for a:
HR Officer
c. £35,000 package + benefits in central London location
The role:
• Managing HR issues (knowledge of employment law; liaising with employment lawyers; drafting, issue and modification of contracts; liaison with HR in Switzerland; contact for, and management, of staff disputes; management of PMM process; preparation of training for new staff).
• Management and provision of temporary staff; management of student placements.
• Management and provision of information relating to staff benefits (pension, medical and life insurance, cycle scheme, eye tests, training, etc.)
• Recruitment (liaising with recruitment agencies, devising recruitment criteria, procurement and placement of recruitment ads, management of booths at recruitment fairs, etc)
• General office management (management of internal security; management of internal modifications to office space; liaising with external contractors for repairs and cleaning).
• Facilities management (liaising with phone companies for mobiles and blackberries, internal phone management, desk provision and management, liaising with landlord re permissions, repairs, problems, etc.).
• IT contact with central IT services in Switzerland. Low-level IT support.
• Extraordinary projects (eg management of translator training courses).
• Reporting directly to CLS UK’s CEO.
The person:
• At least 3 years in HR and formal training or qualification.
• A hands-on problem-solver with a good understanding and management of practical issues.
• Able to develop and manage good social relationships with staff and external suppliers.
• A fluent speaker of English. German (or other languages) would be an advantage though not essential.
