Marketing Manager – Europe
AEP Networks, a provider of secure networking and identity-based access technology, is seeking an enthusiastic, highly-motivated and qualified Marketing Manager for employment at its European headquarters in Hemel Hempstead, UK. The candidate will report directly to the VP of Marketing.
Scope of Role
The Marketing Manager role comprises elements of Product Marketing, Channel/Field Marketing, and Marketing Communications. The primary focus is to create, deliver and manage comprehensive marketing programs that bolster lead generation and support the sales effort. It involves significant interaction and collaboration both within the Marketing team and with other organizations at the company, particularly the Sales and Product Management teams.
Position Responsibilities
Proactive, coordinated marketing programs in conjunction with company strategy; Work with the Marketing team to determine and design the best mix of programs to create awareness of the products/solutions and generate qualified leads; Local/Regional execution of global campaigns.
Create an offer and marketing message for products/solutions for internal and external audiences; articulate a clear, differentiated value proposition.
Communicate marketing program metrics and goals to ensure company-wide awareness; Monitor progress and assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and adjust accordingly; Define a lead follow up strategy and work closely with Sales teams.
Channel marketing: Create and deliver joint marketing programs and lead generation campaigns with specific channel and technology partners; Manage VAR and distributor communications and promotions (spiffs, contests, rebates, etc.).
Writing and design: Collateral such as product datasheets, solution summaries, white papers, brochures, presentations, FAQ documents, web content, landing pages, etc.
Organize events such as webcasts, seminars, trade shows.
Create direct mail/e-mail campaigns, advertising.
Online marketing tactics (SEO, SEM): Website optimization for strong online presence to drive qualified leads; Work with the product team to write web site content and improve response from natural search
Product communications: Develop and maintain product collateral that describes, differentiates and positions products/solutions for internal and external audiences; Develop product presentations for sales and speaking engagements, etc.; Responsible for the communications aspect of a new product launch including sales communications and the creation & distribution of product collateral.
Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Minimum 5-7 years experience in B2B technology Marketing; preferred at least 3 years with a networking/security company
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Very strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate a visual story
Previous experience writing product and sales collateral
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, take initiative, and drive activities to completion in order to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with MS Word, MS PowerPoint; Adobe and HTML design programs very helpful.
Occasional travel (approx. 10%) will be required, generally limited to UK and central Europe
Preferred languages: English and Dutch (French, German, Spanish a plus)
