As a Technical Lead you will undertake an array of tasks & responsibilities:
•Assist in the design, code, test and document all new or modified BI Systems, applications and programs
•Assist in the development of the semantic layer, metadata, reports and report definitions
•Design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI Solutions
•Analyse user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications
•Develop ETL processes to ensure a manageable ETL infrastructure for the BI system
•Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary
•The evaluation and selection of database / data warehouse components, including hardware, relational database management systems, ETL software metadata management tools, and database design solutions
•Work in conjunction with the Team Leader, IT Director, Technical Services Team, Development Team, the Program Director and Business Partners, providing operational, logistical and project support
•Develop and implement a rolling 12 month BI Development plan

Technical Lead remuneration package:
•£36,000-£43,000 depending on experience

Technical Lead skill attributes:
•Minimum of 1 year Cognos 8 framework manager design, package creation and reporting experience
•Minimum of 1 year Cognos Impromptu version 6 experience including catalogue design and report authoring
•Comprehensive knowledge of Transact SQL, MDX and OLAP principles.
•Comprehensive knowledge of Cognos Powerplay cube design and development.
•Experience with tier-one applications databases and data warehouses, such as Oracle 9i, MS SQL Server, Crystal, SAP, SCM, and so on.
•Knowledge of Active Directory security architecture
•Demonstrated ability with Microsoft SQL server DTS and SSIS ETL tools
•Knowledge of VB and Cognos scripting languages
•Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
•Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques
•Ability to mentor and develop people at all levels (business acumen, leadership)
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels
