French and German trilingual Translation Checker

Company: A leading translation company based in Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire. The company has a varied client base and offers a clear career structure with strong opportunities for development within the translation sector.

Role:
As part of an international team of approximately fifty checkers, the work of the translation checker will involve word-by-word proof reading and checking of translations prepared by in-house and external technical staff and sometimes adapting existing translations to conform to new versions of foreign documents. Due to the high levels of accuracy involved, the translation checkers work in their own mother-tongue.
This role requires French to mother-tongue standard and fluency in German and English. Recruits who demonstrate their ability could be offered the opportunity to progress to trainee translator status, involving further technical study, and then to full translator status or alternatively to administrative functions within the company, many of these openings being filled internally.

Person:
French must be mother-tongue standard with excellent fluency in both German and English
Language or translation degree or professional equivalent
Good proof reading skills
Strong attention to detail, high levels of accuracy and strong powers of concentration.
An interest in the translation sector
Able to commute or relocate to Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire (direct train from Marylebone station).
