Senior Software Support Engineer/Level 2 Technical Support

We have an excellent opportunity for you to join an international storage company as a Senior Software Support Engineer (SSE). You will have the primary responsibility for providing technical support for data management & disk-based backup software products.
You get to resolve highly complex issues in a wide variety of technical environments with both internal and external customers.

You will ...
* answer phone support requests from our partners and customers on our data storage software products and disk-based backup products
* provide remote level 1 & 2 technical support
* reproduce configurations and problems in the test lab
* communicate with various software development teams and escalate support issues as needed
* ensure customers are satisfied & can be used as a positive reference
* mentor, train and assist junior team members in handling escalation situations
* mentor and train junior team members.
* support beta field evaluations of new products/enhancements
* review, edit and manage the knowledge database
* need to work flexible shifts in a 7x24 support center environment

You need ...
* degree in Computer Science or equivalent education level
* 3+ years experience in a system administration or technical support role or equivalent skill set
* high level UNIX system administration and troubleshooting skills on
- multiple UNIX platforms (Linux, Solaris, HP/UX, AIX, IRIX)
OR
- MS Windows 2000/2003
* UNIX scripting skills
* familiar with backup applications such as Legato Networker or Veritas NetBackup.
* superior knowledge of SCSI and fibre channel technology, networking and SAN
* Must be able to communicate fluently in English and either
French, German, Spanish or Italian (verbal and written)
* Brocade training/certification is a major plus
* UNIX/Windows certifications are a plus
