EMEA Hardware Technical Support/Support Analyst (HTS)
We have an excellent opportunity for you to join an international storage company as a Technical Support Analyst. You will be responsible for provide telephone based technical support for all customer and service partners reported faults on our hardware products.
You get to work as a part of the distributed EMEA support team and work closely with others to ensure an even workload.
Your very strong technical problem solving skills, communication skills (both written and verbal) are required and you need to be able to work as part of an international team.
You will ...
* respond to phone support requests from our partners and customers on our library products and provide remote support
* gather problem descriptions, log files, configuration and analyze them in order to determine root cause of problems and finding solutions
* be responsible for problem ownership and when necessary to escalate issues to the correct technical or managerial level to ensure all customer problems are resolved in a short timescale
* dispatch field engineers to customer sites as required & order parts needed to resolve customer issues
* provide our service partners assistance via telephone with their repair efforts while they are at a customer site
* report potential quality issues
* maintain accurate documentation of service event in the Oracle database
* participate in rotating on-call schedule to provide 7x24 support to customers worldwide
You must have ...
* Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent training and experience
* Fluent in English and near native German
* 2+ years service experience with storage products or equivalent skill set
* SCSI, fibre channel technology, SAN and network connectivity experience
* excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills with some experience of fault diagnosis on complex systems
* experience of interfacing with customers
* ability to multi-task between several customer situations at the same time

* backup application knowledge/skills are a plus
* some UNIX/Linux/Microsoft OS skills are a benefit
