Job Description
Title: QA Technician
Location: Durham/ Newcastle
Salary: 18-25k
Japanese manufacturer based in Durham requires a QA Technician to join their team.
Successful candidate must have fluent English. Czech, Polish and Japanese would be advantage.
Job Purpose
To ensure that the Production Print files are maintained, and product development when new parts come on board is adhered to.
To undertake more complex testing of goods and materials.
To ensure that the QC tools are maintained correctly and in accordance with compliance requirements.
To prepare and maintain accurate QA documentation which forms an audit trail.
To assist with training of junior staff, containment, supplier audits, inspection and scrap management when needed.
Key responsibilities and duties:
Documentation and Assistance
I. Bring up to date, and maintain a process for ensuring that customers sign off relevant specifications (drawings, millsheet, parts submission warrant)
2. Ensure that all incoming goods are properly identified and inspected if a problem occurs and inspect products when complex testing is needed
3 Create improvement requests where necessary and ensure relevant parties are advised (sales)
4. Physical checks of stock movements and associated process for dealing with rejects
5. Assist QC manager with QC issues and containment when asked
6. Help with maintenance of all QC related documents
Uptake of New Parts and Product Development
1. Ensure that new parts have samples tested, and that appropriate documents are created to record relevant information about the parts
2. Ensure that any changes to parts are noted on relevant reports, and that Sales/Operations are informed.
3. Work with Sales to ensure that new products are started up smoothly and the customer receives the product they want.
4. Assist with the communication forms when a new product or a change is introduced.
5.Source suppliers whenever new equipment is needed
Supplier Development
I. Visit suppliers and carry out audits when required and improve the quality of
information provided by and to suppliers
2. Carry out supplier assessments and audits on a regular basis incorporating all localized suppliers in the UK and Europe
3. Ensure Supplier Assessment records and files are kept up to date and maintained
4. Take a proactive role in supplier development and part development (using various technical equipment to undertake tests on sizes, dimensions, durability of materials etc.)
5. Monitor problem suppliers and put in measures to improve them and improve the service the suppliers give
6. Ensure compliance with purchasing process
