Job Description
To lead the GKLS Language Services Translation, Terminology and Resourcing team, with effective repeatable processes and focused performance measures to deliver complex localisation projects to customer requirements.
Key Accountabilities
• Lead a team of translators, terminologists and resourcing co-ordinators with varying skills and knowledge (approx. 30 people).
• Motivate, develop and train team for optimum performance.
• Define translation, terminology & resourcing engagement processes in response to new and changing customer requirements and develop associated metrics for repeatable high performance.
• Agree and meet team performance targets (staff utilisation, productivity and customer satisfaction)
• Work with Supplier Management team to enable effective supplier management strategies to be implemented and achieved.
• Allocate & monitor translation, terminology & localisation resources for all Language Services projects, maintaining resource flexibility to match fluctuating workloads.
• Contribute to development & implementation of long-term Language Services strategy.
• Prioritise Quality, Delivery and Cost to resolve cross-functional project issues.
• Input to and implementation of long-term localisation strategy, including localisation tools/processes.
• Manage Translation cost centre(s).
Candidate Requirements
• Line management experience with experience of building cross-functional teams
• Experience of business performance measurement and reporting
• Knowledge of translation tools & technology
• Proven experience in a fast moving production environment group.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal & written.
• Root-cause analysis skills.
• Highly skilled in influencing and negotiating.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
