Job Description
THE COMPANY
The company is a market leader in home entertainment, employing well over 10,000 staff globally, and constantly expanding and innovative in its approach. You will be based in their head office where they work with an international team speaking 12 languages.
THE ROLE in a nutshell
Supplier Logistics, Relationship Management, Customer Services and planning with daily use of your fluent Japanese. This role is genuinely exciting and varied!!!
DUTIES
Logistics:
•Liaise with customers globally and with the factories in Japan regarding stock levels, prices, delivery timetables etc in order to ensure a smooth customer service is delivered at all times
•Manage the potentially conflicting delivery time-tables of suppliers, with the time demands of customers
•Co-ordinating the flow of goods
•Dealing with quality control issues and complaints
•Negotiating with suppliers in order to deal with urgent customer needs
•Data management including data input, , prices, purchase order numbers and ensuring all documents are processed accurately
•Liaising directly with factories in order to manage stock, shortages and inventories and future supply “flows”
•Working within strict supply targets
•Use of SAP and liaising with the warehouse in order to provide an uninterrupted flow of goods
•Excellent numerical skills needs to ensure accurate prices and stock valuations
Supplier Relationship Management
•Developing excellent ongoing relationships with suppliers in order to ensure a top class service to clients
•Price negotiations and negotiating delivery times
•Forecasting and then planning deliveries with the factories
Customer Services
•Keeping the customer updated regarding delivery of their goods
•Ensuring that there is total clarity in the supply chain
•Resolving supply issues, such as potential shortages of bottlenecks in delivery
•Assisting in planning production with the customer
•Providing a top level sales support to the customer at all times
•Escalating and resolving urgent issues
•Liaising with customers via email and over the telephone
REQUIREMENTS
Experience in import-export logistics or customer services
Fluent Japanese
Fluent English
Knowledge of SAP is useful
LOCATION
Basingstoke (only 40 minutes train travel from Waterloo station)
