Car Mechanic / Automotive Technician / Car Electrician / Automotive Engineer

Salary £21000 - 24000 depending on experience.
Location - Peterlee, County Durham

For our clients new Technical Assistance Centre in Peterlee, we are currently looking for Automotive Technicians to support dealerships in Great Britain.
You fit our profile, if you have an education as a car technician (car mechanic / car electrician / master technician / automotive engineer) and have several years of work experience in an automotive environment (preferable you will have experience on Vauxhall, SAAB or Chevrolet). You are flexible and like working as part of a team and you are comfortable in using computer and databases.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide technical advice and assistance to General Motors UK (GMUK) Dealers, Fleet Operators, other GMUK departments and GMUK/ GM Europe (GME) divisions.

NATURE AND SCOPE

As (GMUK) Technical Assistance Engineer you will be an integral part of a large team of Minacs technical staff working within GMUK. You will provide assistance of technical and non-technical nature to GMUK\'s retailers and or Independent Motor Traders. This is a responsible position with delegated authority to authorise tens of thousands of pounds of GMUK\'s warranty expenditure; significant delegated budgetary authority levels are given.

EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATIONS

Previous experience in the operation of a service workshop in all disciplines.
Previous experience in servicing and repairing motor vehicles.
Proven communication and customer care skills.
Proven technical report writing skills from computer-based data.
