Overview
Involvement in all SSC Financial Accounting activities for the Italian region, providing support and information to both the Regional Sales team and the Centralised accounting organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting activities for the Italian region in the Shared Service Centre in Cork.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a contact point between SSC Finance and the Italian Region and maintaining good working relationship between SSC Italian sites and External Advisors.
• Responsible for executing and co-ordinating Italian activities and providing excellent support to the region.
• Liaise with other Regional Leads to ensure that consistent processes are applied across all regions and that there is consistent treatment of corporate finance policies
• Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, in Italian accounting functions
• Ensure that month end close timetable is followed by accounting functions supporting the regional close.
• Liaison with External Advisors,
• Internal co-ordination with the Intercompany and VAT Compliance teams, the Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialists
• Responsibility for tax filings within the Region
• Responsibility for accounting activities, including:
• Production of Italian Statutory Accounts and tax return
• Attendance at the quarterly Board of Auditor meetings
• IS and BS integrity, including full periodic BS reviews
• Review of statements with Central and Local management
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Journal voucher preparation and posting.
• Ensuring excellent control environment.
• Being involved and working in Italian region projects as they arise.
• Develop with the role to expand responsibilities within the SSC organisation
Qualifications/Experience:
• Qualified Accountant with Italian GAAP
• Fluent Italian
• 3 - 5 Years post qualification experience
• Excellent communicator.
• Team player with individual initiative.
