Job description
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating deliveries, overseas- and airfreight transportation of purchased, and assisting the Expediting & Logistic Supervisor to monitor the overall performance of vendors, forwarders, carriers and transport service companies, by controlling and reporting, including researching shipping market information.

This position reports to the Expediting and Logistics Supervisor.

Key responsibilities:
Assists the immediate Supervisor in the execution of his daily job. Evaluates shipping methods and shipping opportunities, considering the requirements as per agreement with forwarders, logistic economical parameters for examining routing alternatives in accordance with purchase order data, amendments and/or special affiliate requirements in concern with the logistic decision-group data (lead-times, handling requirements).
Monitors and reports to his immediate Supervisor the performance of forwarders, carriers and service companies, of agreements and contracts to do with traffic and interrelated activities, as well as satisfying the requirements of company affiliates.
Monitors and checks special freight agreements, stevedoring, arrangements and agreements for loading and discharging, overland carriage, general cargo- and heavy lift carriers, haulage and warehousing, and chartering of aircrafts, administration and follow-up on claims.
Screening new placed orders for any irregularities and to identify any logistical obstacles in advance.
Registers material receipt at the forwarder and controls the timely distribution of shipping documents.
Instructs, monitors and adjusts when necessary, forwarders, vendors and other companies to execute their tasks at high standard of quality.
Works in close cooperation with all applicable functions within the corporation, other agents, for delegation of direct tasks for smooth execution of the overall logistic operation.
Maintains the information- and forecast flow to company affiliates through status report and by direct phone, E-mail or fax contacts, keeping them informed of any discrepancy or special action to be taken.
Assists the immediate Supervisor in checking and registering of invoices from forwarders.

Requirements
HBO education Logistics or equivalent years of experience in a similar job in an industry related environment.
Insight in all the logistical processes as well as an understanding of the material, equipment and manufacturing processes.
Able to maintain the control and overview of complete information and material flows.
Power-user level of SAP, MS Office, interfaces with hardware and other used application is required.
Fluent in spoken and written languages: English and preferably one other modern language of universal usage.
Knowledge about US import/export compliance requirements.

Please note that only applicants already in possession of a valid work permit for The Netherlands and already residing in The Netherlands can be considered for this position.

Salary indication
Up to 4,500 Euro gross per month, depending on level of relevant experience
