Associate Geographic Technician (4)

This position is part of a global production operations. This department road and cartography features, and add or update attributes as extensive as traffic coding and points of interest (POIs).

As a member of a geo-coding or digitizing team, this position is responsible for utilizing digital and/or analogue source materials to create, update or modify digital map databases through the use proprietary software. This position is under the direct supervision of a Project Leader and is regularly mentored by experienced Geographic Technicians.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Skill development on proprietary tools and limited functions.

• Work with proprietary tools, using source material to apply basic navigation attributes including but not limited to: names, addresses, speed categories, functional class entry of roadways, intersection coding, restricted driving maneuvers, administrative and postal coding as well as various other basic attribute coding.

• Maintain compliance with database specifications and project requirements

• Perform quality checks on data input to test validity of data with the assistance of experienced Geographic Technicians

• Special project work as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma required (undergraduate degree in Geography or Geosciences preferred)

• Basic computer skills with knowledge of office software applications

• English language skills

• Additional language is required: Nordic, German or Russian

• Detail oriented

• Basic problem solving skills

• Basic written and oral communication skills

• Team player
