COMPANY DESCRIPTION: We are an expanding translation company near the City of London with regular clients from both private and public sectors. Current contracts include 30+ exclusive public service accounts. We also work regularly with appx 50% of the top 100 legal firms in the UK.

Title: Private Sector Sales Manager
Salary: £24k per annum basic + 1% commission from all departmental sales + 0.5% commission from all new contracts. Realistic OTE £35+

The post holder will have experience of the translation industry and above all have the ability to generate sales. The person will also need to have knowledge of the processes involved in the delivery and production of high quality translations either as a translator or project manager. Ideal candidate will normally but not necessarily have a background in languages with at least 3 years experience of the translation industry and with particular reference to sales and marketing.
The post holder will be managing a small team of telesales representatives.

Tasks:
- to develop the business so that it can reach its potential in its market sector
- to prepare quotes and close sales
- to achieve a sales target in line with the annual budget
- to manage all telesales activities
- to establish a strong portfolio of work arising from national and international tendering processes
- to create a presence in the market by visits and presentations to potential clients
- to produce appropriate promotional materials
- to maintain and develop the client database
- to supervise all sales and marketing communication
- to ensure that the current structure for customer care is maintained and enhanced
Requirements:
- BA, BSc and/or MA-MSc degree in Marketing, Marketing Management, Business, Business Development, Linguistics, Translation etc. (other degrees will also be considered)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and organisation skills are essential
- Excellent customer service skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Outstanding organisational skills
- Experience in
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to deal with a wide range of potential customers from corporate companies to government and public sector organisations
- Passion for sales/marketing/business development
- Minimum 3 year solid experience in translation sales and/or business development of a translation company in the UK
- Knowledge of translation market in UK
- English spoken as mother tongue level
- Excellent written English with proof-reading skills
- Lots of energy! Out going personality!
There will be 2 interviews and a small test for applicants:
• The first interview will be approximately 1 hour in which we will discuss your CV and explore your knowledge of translation industry.
• We will request a small presentation of our company in the second interview.
• We will then conduct an 'email writing' and 'telephone pitching' test.
