Portuguese speaking Credit Control / Accounts Receivable

An experienced Portuguese speaking Credit Controller/Accounts Receivable specialist with good customer services skills is required for a large international company based in the Surrey area. This dynamic company requires a hard-working candidate to join their shared service centre team.
Your main task will be to manage the Portuguese credit collections operations in order to ensure that DSO and other key financial performance targets are met. The role will also include some customer services activities including customer order processing and query resolution.

Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:
- Proactive chasing of customers for cash to ensure that the DSO target is achieved
- Manage the credit risk for the Company, escalating issues in a timely manner to Management.
- Ensuring discounts for prompt payment are accurately applied.
- Minimising the risk of bad and doubtful debts
- Provide timely Month End Credit reporting to Company management
- Manage customer queries and issues, taking actions to eliminate causes of problems
- Establish and maintain procedures for accurate and timely cash collection, allocation and query handling.
- Management and resolution of insolvency situations in conjunction with the Finance team and local country management
- Work together with the Finance Team to ensure that bank, subsystems, Sales ledger and customer account reconciliation's are completed on a timely basis.
- Make sure that invoices are sent in a timely manner and generated without error

Customer Services Responsibilities:
- Accurate data entry of customer orders
- Escalation of stock allocation and customer service issues to Team Leader
- Management of customer query clearance, identifying and putting in place action plans to eliminate the source problem


All candidates must be fluent in Portuguese with specialised Credit Control experience including cash allocation and monthly credit reporting. Candidates who have worked in a shared service centre environment will be ideal. Character-wise, you should be confident, hard-working, proactive, dynamic and enthusiastic with the ability to work well in a team or on individually.

This is a long term temporary assignment, with an expected duration of between 9 and 12 months.
Salary is £25,000 pro-rata.
