THE JOB:

To assist the Head of Compliance, ensuring that all compliance issues relating to the Company are interpreted and implemented in an efficient and timely manner. To assist with the execution of the ongoing compliance plan of the Company and to ensure the Company carries out and meets all its regulatory obligations. To help ensure that all matters relating to the changes in compliance, as instigated by authorities, are executed thoroughly.
This position will primarily be based in Antwerp with travel to Luxembourg.
• Assist in any compliance issues. Ensure that any commitments that are to be undertaken are efficiently executed.
• Advise relevant departments on compliance issues on a past current or future basis.
• To assist the Head of Compliance in monitoring the effectiveness of compliance. To provide support to the Head of Compliance as they ensure that the Company’s compliance procedures are reviewed and changes made to the procedures that are found to be below standard.
• Record Keeping. Ensure that all records relating to ongoing compliance within the rules of the regulators are maintained. This includes, but is not limited to records of adverts, other real and non-real time financial promotions, risk assessments, breaches, complaints, PA dealing compliance monitoring, training and competence.
• Responsibility to Treat Customers Fairly. To regard the fair treatment of customers as the focal point of all activities.
• Personal standards. To act in accordance to the principles and obligations relevant to your position and the code of Approved Persons.
• Personal development. Attend training sessions as required. To be fully aware of funds and products available.

THE CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• At least three years of experience in a compliance / regulatory role, ideally with exposure to Belgium and Luxembourgish life insurance
• Fluent in English, French and Flemish would be an asset
• Third level education in business, ideally with a focus on law
• Flexible, open to travel
• Attentive to detail and rigorous
• Can drive and implement a risk / compliance culture through the company.
