Job Description
Job Purpose:
It will be the jobholder’s responsibility to provide high quality translation, of mainly automotive, IT & telecoms subject matter, from Swedish to English, to the time, quality and cost requirements dictated by our contracts.
Key Accountabilities:
Translation and proof reading of technical documents (predominantly automotive)
Take total accountability for the quality of the finished product delivered to the customer
Provide input to the Terminology Team as appropriate to ensure accurate reference material for other translators and consistency of the final deliverables.
Carry out maintenance work on the translation memories to reduce ambiguity and increase translation efficiency.
Undertake quality audits and provide reports for internal and external use (ITQS / TQA)
Support Translation Resourcing Analysts in identification/provision of reference materials to ensure consistency across translations performed by different translators
Participate in cross-functional project teams to represent the views and concerns of the translation team and ensure processes are designed to be efficient & effective.
Candidate Requirements:
English mother tongue with fluency in Swedish and ideally German
Experience of translating from Swedish to English
Experience of translating German to English would also be advantageous but not essential
Experience of translation production tools & processes
Experience of supplier management with a track record of negotiation and cost management / reporting
Experience of translating documents within the automotive, engineering environment would be advantageous but experience in other areas will also be considered
Experience in project planning with knowledge of Trados, Multiterm and other technical production processes
Strategic Planning & Organising to ensure short- and long-term resource requirements are met.
