Ethical Investment Research Services (EIRIS) is a leading provider of the research that investors and financial institutions need to take account of corporate social, environmental and ethical performance. In the last few years we have expanded the coverage available in our Ethical Portfolio Manager (EPM) software product to more than 2,800 companies across the world. Our client base has also become increasingly global.
We are looking to recruit three Research Analysts to analyse companies in allocated sectors, maintain and develop various research areas, and to generally ensure the accuracy and quality of research delivered to our clients. You will join either the Industrials team or the Consumer Goods and Services team.
You will be responsible for assessing companies from across several sectors according to a range of social, governance and environment criteria. You will have a broad knowledge of issues relating to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and must be able to efficiently communicate and summarise complex material both verbally and in writing. You will need to be accurate and efficient, and be familiar with the use of databases, spreadsheets and word processing packages. You will be able to analyse and manipulate data in bulk using Access, Excel or equivalent and to define new queries and lookups. You will have a good level of numeracy and be a fast learner.
Knowledge of specific CSR issues or business ethics, and experience of research or similar work on CSR or related fields is essential. A readiness to undertake routine repetitive tasks is also an essential requirement for the post. Applicants should have a 2:2 degree or equivalent.
One of the 3 posts requires fluent written and spoken Japanese as well as English. For this post you should have at least one year’s experience of working in a Japanese organisation in Japan using Japanese as the main language, or be Japanese educated up to degree level.
For the other two posts a language other than English is not essential, but the ability to work in a second language, in particular a Chinese language or Brazilian Portuguese, may be an advantage.
