This is a great opportunity for a fluent German speaking credit controller to join one of the one of the high street’s most prestigious luxury goods brands. Central London, based in the West End.

Role

You will be responsible for credit controlling around 400 customers including department stores, high street fashion chains and independent fashion boutiques. Your customers will be based in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

In a fast moving credit control role, you will be controlling aged debt by maintaining close contact with your customers... You will maximise cash collection through pro-active and reactive collection techniques. You will oversee the work of the cashier to ensure the efficient banking of cash & cheques, and to ensure that all payments are being correctly allocated, accounts reconciled and updated information correctly entered on the system. You will process applications for new customer accounts, and you will monitor and review their credit limits. If credit limits are exceeded or if overdue accounts remain unsettled, you will be authorised to prevent orders being released. You will have the authority to release goods that have become “credit held” at consignment stage once the credit limit has been reviewed. You will record and control returned merchandise, issuing credit notes if necessary. You will deal directly with the customer and internal colleagues (such as sales or warehousing) to resolve issues that are delaying invoice payment, e.g. short shipments, price differences, damaged stock and so on.

It will be important to maintain good relationships with internal colleagues (sales managers, warehousing, AR team) to gain their cooperation in resolving customers’ invoice queries, as well as establishing excellent relationship with the external customers.


Person

This role will suit a well organised, outgoing, relationship- building credit controller with good accounts receivable administration skills. Ideal backgrounds include wholesale, manufactured goods, fashion brands, luxury goods, however we will consider any business to business credit control or accounts receivable experience as being relevant.

Experience of using SAP, and German plus additional language skills such as French or Italian or Spanish will be a distinct advantage.

Salary is up to £27,000 + company benefits including:
