Purchasing and Production Coordinator
Salary: £22-25K

This is a newly created position to support the Purchasing Manager.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide interface between Product Development and Purchasing to ensure all new launches proceed smoothly and to agreed schedules.
- Ensure all terms and prices are agreed with new product suppliers and documented clearly.
- Liaise with relevant departments to determine opening order quantities taking in to account requirements for pattern books, sampling, cushions and kitbags.
- Place opening orders with suppliers for fabrics, wallpapers, cushions and blankets at agreed prices and to predetermined delivery schedules.
- Prepare detailed specifications of pattern books in conjunction with Product Development recommendations
- Progress production with suppliers for all deliveries until completion of first order.
- Coordinate information flow with QC and Goods In personnel, monitoring movement of stock.
- Production of prototype and first 100 sets of all new pattern books.
- Negotiation of terms with suppliers in concert with the Product Development personnel including shipping.
- Match invoices to goods received to ensure pricing and quantities delivered are correct.
- Maximise margin at all times by ensuring best prices are achieved without compromising quality.
- Ensure all new supplier details and terms and conditions are clearly agreed, accounts raised and information filed for easy access: i.e. payment terms, lead times, min order quantities, prices and contact details.
Requirements:
Previous experience in the soft furnishings, interior design or textile industry is essential
You will also have previous experience within purchasing, sales support or production co-ordination.
You will have excellent communication skills and strong numeric skills including Excel
Fluency in a European language, particularly Italian would be a great advantage
