Overview of Role:
The purpose of this role is to account manage Microsoft's commercial customers to develop quality sales opportunities and drive revenue growth for Microsoft and its Partners, whilst increasing customer satisfaction. You will be assigned to a regional territory working with small, medium and corporate size customers. The regional territory will range across a variety of business industries including Manufacturing, Retail, Financial Services and Professional Services amongst others. Managing approximately 170 customers (subject to change) you will have a clear opportunity to maximise your revenue target and build lasting business relationships and create rapport with the customers, with the aim of developing a thorough understanding of their business.
This is driven through the following key activities:
•Development of quality sales opportunities
•Relationship building
•Responding to customer queries and complaints
•Opportunity tracking and management
•Managing data quality of Accounts and Contacts
•Maintaining and improving Customer Partner Experience (CPE)
•Continuous improvement
This role will require a high level of drive and ambition to be able to consult on high level strategy, IT spend and complex solutions selling together with understanding and driving penetration of licensing, deployment and support contracts.
Experience Required:
Essential:
•Excellent communication skills including clear and concise verbal and written business communication
•Ability to build strong customer relationships and develop quality sales opportunities
•Highly focused on customer satisfaction and their contact experience with Microsoft; sensitive and empathetic to their issues/concerns
•Ability to work at high levels of accuracy in information management and data entry
•Confident and Outgoing - Participates in Team Meetings, discussions and other activities
•Eager to learn – Must be able to take ownership for learning and skills development
•Account Management: experience of account management, building relationships with customers. Participate in account planning and completely understand all facets of account
•Building relationships internally in Microsoft - To work with a virtual team of Tele-Partner Account Managers (Tele-PAM's), Regional Business Managers (RBM's) and Partner Account Manager (PAM), to fully service the customer
•Self Critical and wants to improve. Open to feedback and coaching
•Self motivation to drive personal performance to achieve targets and strive for continuous improvement
•Structured thinking to plan customer contact, assimilate customer needs and connect with Microsoft's products, solutions and licensing agreements
•Be able to use Microsoft Office proficiently
•Ability to consult on high level strategy and IT Spend
•Good Organisational Skills – Accurately update Siebel to manage account opportunities. Capture relevant data to drive knowledge about customer. Be the guardians of contact data quality
•Strong negotiation skills; ability to influence and prove value
•Understanding of Microsoft Products and Solutions
•Commercial Skills – Understanding how a business works. Decision Makers, Key Influencers - IT Decision Maker (ITDBM), Business Decisions Maker (BDM). Who influences who?
•Sales Experience – Field or Telesales experience - Understands Business Value. Demonstrate a strong record of success in relationship based selling
Desirable:
•Verticals – Understanding of Verticals (Finance, Manufacturing, etc.). In depth Vertical experience
•Outbound Campaign activity involving a complex sale and following a lead through to completion (Solution Selling)
•IT Industry experience
•Understanding of our Business and Competition
•Licensing is the mechanism to how we sell our products - Understand and drive penetration of licensing and deployment
•Graduate Calibre – Degree educated or equivalent, preferably Business or IT related
